Kentucky Private Investigator Practice Test 2026 – The Comprehensive All-in-One Guide to Exam Success!

The reason why weapons of mass destruction are not covered under the Concealed Carry of Deadly Weapons (CCDW) permit in Kentucky is primarily due to the nature and legal implications associated with such weapons. The CCDW permit specifically addresses firearms and other concealable deadly weapons, which are defined under Kentucky law. Weapons of mass destruction, however, refer to a range of destructive devices that can cause significant harm and are subject to different regulations and laws at both the state and federal levels. These can include chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear weapons, which are heavily regulated and not intended for civilian use.

In contrast, firearms, knives, and bows and arrows fall within the categories that the CCDW permit covers, as these are considered more conventional weapons that an individual may carry for personal protection or sporting purposes. The regulations surrounding these weapons still ensure that the individuals carrying them adhere to safe handling practices, but they are fundamentally different from the regulations that apply to weapons of mass destruction.
